Midas Marx

"Hoe kom je toch op al die ideeën?" Wel, van deze Midas Wolf kan ik het me nog herinneren.
Ik las een boek over de Marx Brothers , waarin flinke stukken dialoog letterlijk uitgeschreven stonden.
In de film "Animal Crackers" kwam een geweldig surrealistisch gesprek voor, waarvan hier een detail:

Spalding: "Suppose nobody in the house took the painting."
Ravelli: "Go to the house next door."
Spalding: "Suppose there isn't any house next door."
Ravelli: "Well, then of course, we gotta build one."

Goed voor een solo sketch voor een Wolf alleen (of bijna):

"How do you get all these ideas?" Well, for once I do remember how I stumbled on this one. I was reading a book on the Marx Brothers, where huge chunks of dialogue were cited.
In the "Animal Crackers" movie there was a surreal dialogue, which contained these lines:

Spalding: "Suppose nobody in the house took the painting."
Ravelli: "Go to the house next door."
Spalding: "Suppose there isn't any house next door."
Ravelli: "Well, then of course, we gotta build one."
